Ship Self Defense/Remote Functionality

Ship Self Defense System: When a landed Ship is Unoccupied and is attacked it will activate turrets (if available) and engage any aggressors.

Stealth/Sleep Mode: Ship will shut down 99% of systems making it virtually invisible to sensors and radar.

Ship Auto Dismiss: Ship will disembark automatically when meeting certain predefined conditions (Damage taken, 50% Shields, No shields, etc.).

Ship Follow(Crew Only): Ship will maintain a low altitude following Commander around while on foot or in SRV.

Remote Weapons/Limpet Access:
While on foot or in SRV, ability to use Ships collection limpets to collect cargo or use weapons remotely to fire on a target using a laser designator (missiles, torpedoes or turrets, if there is line of site. 20s charge time and 2 minute cool down to avoid spamming.).

Telepresence Remote Control: Allow Commander via telepresence to pilot any owned Ship remotely. Must be physically in SRV or Ship.

Ship Delivery: When on foot or in SRV, ability to call any owned ship to come to your location. Time duration depending on distance applies.
 
I like these suggestions and the implication that the ship is a useful tool and not just a vehicle.

I especially like how you suggest ships could be programmed with basic routines. Final fantasy 12 made use of the gambit system whereby players could build a strategy out of an assortment of pre made commands like heal ally hp >25%. This mechanic would be a fun meta game all on its own.

Ideas like this will also be very interesting if someday we get ship interiors and ship boarding mechanics.
 
You're going to make a small group of players mad that space ships from the year 3300 have the ability to automate themselves (who simultaneously think they're in the year 3300 but ships still have flight capabilities of a WW2 plane) and that's very amusing to me. Automation sounds good to me, it fits in with the lore and technology of the setting.

Each ship must be equipped with shovel to make it invisible like this:

Time depends on the size of the ship.
Ship Delivery: When on foot or in SRV, ability to call any owned ship to come to your location. Time duration depending on distance applies.
The guy delivering the ship should then call Apex taxi and fly away. Or suicide if there is no Apex in the area.
