You can't zoom out all the way so you don't get all of the ship, but here are the medium pad ships

Game models comparison

Does anyone have an overhead of the Dropship? (I don't have the rep for it yet).

Might do one for small pads next time I use one, or if someone has some overhead screenshots already I could resize like this for the comparison.

Is there a good way of getting the size comparison between pad sizes?

To get a good comparison of pad sizes, take a screen shot directly over one, and do the same with a different sized pad at the same distance.

Good idea, though do you need a target to get the distance on it?

Once that's done, I'll start doing some of the small ships, and maybe get rank for the Dropship.

The large ones are difficult, as I tried on the Clipper but zooming out doesn't get you much of the ship from above.

I could get you a dropship, but I'm not sure how much of my orca you can see. Might need to look out for npcs docking ans take a screenshot of them.

Great start! I always thought for some reason the type 6 was smaller than an asp... that was pretty wrong huh..

Type-7 is a Large Pad ship, so won't be among the mediums. I'll probably need someone to take that one for me, but some large pad ships do have issues fitting all in a screenshot overhead with your own debug cam.

I'll hopefully get all of them done eventually, though with large pad ships I may need someone to collaborate, as you can't zoom out enough to get most of the ship for a few of them.

I've finished the screenshots for the small ships, I just need to compile and resize them all.

Although I don't know if I can link to it, have you checked out Reddit? A guy as managed to rip the playable ships and has taken screenshots of all of them together. Some of the sizes are surprising, and the detail! Whoever does modelling at FD needs a medal because its fantastic.

btw..the actual models are not only in perfect proportional scale, but also in good absolute scale. For example, this picture is from the Eagles' rear door using a 6 feet human model.

Love this thread man. :D Space ships are so cool!

I really like how big the ships are. You don't often get a real feel for that when out in the black. I am SOOO excited for the day we can walk about inside the ships. I would pay ALL of the money for the chance to customise the inside of my boat. Someone on the forum, sadly I can't remember the name, said you basically live on your ship, and that's the way I see it. We are all our own version of Han Solo or Mal Reynolds on our beloved ships, after all. :D
