While I wait on a patch update I see that someplace in the galaxy I have a ship parked. Now I am hundreds of LY from there... can I just sell it from here or do I have to actually travel there and do it directly?
Personally i prefer to buy a Cobra MK3 as a taxi, or a sidewinder then Cobra at the nearest place. Cobra it's way better as a taxi (range, speed, survivability etc ). I know is a bad game mechanic, but in my opinion it's better than first elite when you have only a Cobra MK3 or FE2 where you can have access to multiple ships, but only one of the time.
Maybe in a future version................
Maybe if you don't take into account commanders out there. With a hauler you are pretty much toast if you encounter another commander, and i play only in open. The hauler makes the best taxi, due to it's tiny running costs and very long range (if you go shieldless).

It's not the cost of the ship, it's the time i lose with the trip. Also i really love to evade "player blockades", it's one of the most fun things to do in this game. And Cobra MK3 it's second the best in game for this, Clipper being first.I've flown a hauler all over the place, mostly to get to Li space to buy stuff at a discount, and the only bumps have been trigger happy NPCs. If you aren't jumping through starter systems, sectors with rares, or where CGs are active, then the risk is really (really) low.
Also, how much are you going to lose, if a CMDR toasts your tiny Hauler? Apart from the nuisance factor of some lost time, and a handful of rebuy credits.
