Ship storage - cargo on board

Why can I not store my ship and jump into another one just because it has cargo on board? Dock master aint telling me what to do, watch I don't shoot him in the face.

It should be my choice if I leave cargo in my unattended ship not anyone else's. Anyone know the reason?

So fail that I cant edit my own posts.

My suggestion is to allow us to store our ships with cargo on board. Duh. Forgot to mention that.

Ship Storage kind of says it all. It's not a personal warehouse for that very reason.

They are storing the ship and the stuff is inside the ship anyway so I fail to see the difference.
Does a storage locker business say "Yes sire you can put that box in our storage locker but you can't have anything inside it, No No No"

Allowing players to store ships with cargo in the hold has been ruled out the grounds that the game is not about long term price speculation but more about the immediacy of one pilot flying one ship.

They store empty ship only to avoid the smell of forgotten organic cargo. And imagine slaves, meh. Seriously, it is not possible because it would be too easy to store hundreds of rebel transmissions, rare art etc. And then do missions consequently without work when they show up.

Well you did the work before storing it. Dont know why everyone is afraid of a little long-term thinking. I dont understand it, this game was meant for the long haul, not just piloting your ship from A to B just for the immediate satisfaction.
At least thats the feeling I got from their communication with the public, somehow it doesnt sit right with me we cant keep the precious rare art stored in a ship for when the times get tough.

I was surprised you couldn't store a ship with its cargo too. I stored my trusty Sidewinder yesterday (as the forerunner to acquiring my new Cobra) and I thought as a bit of a pension fund I'll stick in four tonnes of gold...but nope. Not allowed.

I would like to be able to stockpile resources out in the galaxy. A hollowed out asteroid full of my finds that I could dip in to as I needed. Found a commodity at a bargain price? It's in my warehouse - sorted.

Flying happy
