So with ship transfer you have to fly to the destination and then summon your ship, which will the appear instantaneously. People argue for and against a delay, those for it wanting realism and immersion, those against wanting game.
Rather then having to go to the station and summon, why not be able to send your ship(s) ahead? That way a delay can be added but invisible to the player as they will be transiting as the other ship is as well. But if you get to the station and think 'darn need that ship' there is a (short) delay based on the ships FSD range and distance. So you get rewarded for thinking ahead and planning.
Just a thought that compromises (in my mind anyway lol) both sides. Giving the option to mask the delay as you travel yourself.
