This may sound ridiculous, but Im docked at a port, waiting for my ship to transfer. There's not many ships flying in and out of station, but I heard something fly in. I looked over at ED to see if it was my ship. That doesn't happen, but it made me want to see it!
So, maybe similar to summoning your ship when in your SRV, they could have your ship fly into station. Maybe, to make it so you cant spam, just limit it to one ship, per 30 minutes (so you cant request 10 of your ships/congestion/all that at once). If it's a busy port, your ship may have to put into a queue?
I could see even flying out to meet it, to get some in flight shots.
