Ship Tuning Modules

I would like to see another set of tweaks possible via modules. This would be accessible via a new Tab in Outfitting i.e.

HardPoints : Internal : Modules : Livery

Modules are general upgrades or tweaks made to computer systems either via systems specific replacements or augmentations to the ships computers, sensors, engines etc.

examples of Modules would be...

Afterburner Overdrivers
Forces more power to afterburners when engaged. AB work as is, but they have a second phase, after the initial boost, so the boost lasts longer and the top boost speed is higher. Downside: Increased power draw, and more fuel used during boost. Also chance of boost failure with cheaper models. Boost comes back after cool-down.

Gimbal Upgrades
The weapon Gimbals are replaced with higher quality units. Their speed to match target is improved, meaning they do not target any better, but do adjust faster to target on positive lock. Requires more power draw.

Supercruise Tuning
Right now, we all share a "grunt" limitation in SC, we can all accelerate / decelerate at the same speed. This upgrade would enhance that ability, meaning you would have more power to change speed / course within SC. This would allow you to get to a given target faster than other SC traversing craft. It would also allow you to slow down more rapidly when required. Downside: Much higher energy usage, weighs in at quite a few tons. Very high cost.

Chaff Analyser
A specific computer module whose sole purpose is to analyse chaff and to pass this information on to any Gimbal targeting systems. This reduces the effect of chaff on ALL gimbal mounted weapons on the craft. Downside: Cost, extra power draw.

Combat Shield Monitor
This module would divert 4 pips of power to your shields whilst in combat, when the shields are less than 100% charged, until it is fully charged. Once fully charged it would revert the power settings to those set by the pilot. More expensive models would allow the user to define the maximum number of pips auto-diverted to the shields. Top of the range modules have the option to auto-trigger Shield cells when the shields reach a defined level of charge or lower.

Landing Gear Manager
Has two functions. Raises landing gear as soon as the pilot takes off a landing pad. Secondly it auto-lowers landing gear when A. Ship approaches to within 200m of a space station entrance / space-port landing pad, or alternatively when approaching within 50m of ANY landing pad.

Anyway, you get the idea. Ill add more to this list as ideas occur.
