Ship Wear & Tear

I've been letting my ships get run down. All subsystems and modules are down around 60% health.

I don't repair anything other than Hull beyond 60% and it throws in some fun situations whilst playing. Weapons disabling periodically during fights or cockpit integrity issues whilst trying to orbitally insert onto a moon.

Does anyone know if the FSD could fail to spool if at a certain percentage?
I'm just looking for spool failures, not a completely defunct drive. It would make those situations where I need to run a bit more tense when my drives are playing up.

If anyone knows the percentage for failures of other modules and systems, please share. I only know of 2 right now, weapons and cockpit at 60%.

FSD around 70-60 you'll get a warning "FSD malfunction" in the info box. Below this percent it can fail to charge and then reboot, then it can start dropping you out of super cruse randomly or right after a new jump way close to the star, so heatsinks can save you here to get back into SC. On long range trips i always take an AMU and repair FSD after cone jumps at around 65%

Maybe you notice it at that percentage range as it gets more serious, but I assure you it can randomly fail to charge once it drops below 80% (I'm not exactly sure if it doesn't happen sooner, but 80% i'm quite certain about).

wow really, so soon? i was in a modded g5 fsd with less integrity - then again it was an anaconda, some other factors to consider , also to OP you can attach mod reinforcement package for an extra layer of immersion (come to think of it I may have had this on one particular colonial run - but sticking with 65% for my current build to be honest (91ly \o/), saved a bit of time along the way)

Cheers for the info.
I'll need to let my ship boil a bit to get the percentage lower. :)

Maybe force dropping from sc might degrade the fsd faster?

This is the info I'm after. Makes the game a bit more risky.

Another thing I'm curious about is damage to the shield gen. Does any kind of damage percentage on the drive affect the total charge of the shields? Or even affect regen rates?

Yes, below 80% integrity the FSD will fail to charge and then will reboot (the new tech broker FSD is nice with its long range + 2s reboot).
But i never had it drop me out of supercruise
And i went Bubble >> Colonia using the Neutron Highway without stopping to repair the FSD. I reached Colonia with about 5% on FSD Integrity
