Shipkits.... viewable from cockpit?

Are the shipkits viewable from the cockpit??
I don't use the camera suite so much...

Any point in getting it them???

I know the Spoilers are on the back... so i dont see those.
But the nose kits??? for example the Cutter one?

No. They don't even modify the ship model on the HUD.

Only point in getting them is ... no. I dunno*. I have some btw.

*outside of camera shots!

Yep.

You can see them yourself and everybody else can see 'em too. [up]

They just don't show up on the HUDs, animations and graphics and they don't have physical properties either.

Definitely viewable. In particular, love the Max Max rollcages and huge whopping spikes outside my cockpit on the Raider kits, and the bizarre front bumper extensions for the Vulture :)

Was just going to say, you can certainly see the Vulture nose parts from the cockpit - to the point where they obscure most of the view out of the bottom half of the cockpit canopy.
Which forces you to remove them again. [sad]

And, on that note, based on what we've seen of the Krait, I hope it's not ruined by similar issues.

Yes they are definitely viewable from the cockpit.
My vulture and python for example have nose modifications that definitely are visible.
They do not have hit boxes that influence combat though.

I would like them to show in the HUD too. Perhaps at a later time, when FD gets around to it..

The Vulture cockpit/bridge design has a visibility problem without the ship kit too.
The reason for this is that the pilot is placed too far down in the cockpit.

This is completely unnecessary.
The dome of the Vulture bridge is quite large and the pilot could easily be placed on a little platform higher up in the dome.
This would make the view from the Vulture bridge one of the best and most spectacular in the game, which would make total sense for a ship dedicated to combat.

I have made a proposal about this elsewhere. I hope that one day FD will do something with it.

The spikes on my Cobra III are visible from the cockpit.

Every now and then the tip of a spike glints when the light is right making me think there is something out there.

I don't mind the reduced view, as long as my ships looks good.

This configuration hardly adds additional blockage and I think it looks awesome.
