Ships for getting around the bubble

I have an ASP and a DBX

The DBX has the range, but not the straight line speed and the ASP is the opposite

What's an engineered jump range on an Orca?

I just use my Purple DBX which has about a 51 LY range and boosts around 450ish.... IIRC

I like my Dolphin too but the range isn't as good.

I want: Insane jump range, fast in a straight line

Aside from the Asp X...

The Diamond Back Explorer has one of the highest potential for jump range out there. (higher than the Asp X) Engineered with a good grade 5 it can punch into the low 60s without a heck of a lot of work.

The Orca is also a good choice if you also want to make some money doing passenger missions. It can hit into the high 50s and mid 40s will a full compliment of cabins.

You will need to fully engineer their A rated max class FSD drives to hit those numbers though. Both of these ships have higher cruise and boost speed maxes than the Asp X as well.

I use my ASP Explorer for getting about (41LY jump range) then just transfer the ship i want at that location and play something else while it arrives

DBX for in-bubble travel: Large jump range (and decent tank) but small fuel scoop; perfect, if you can refuel at your destination (which can still be quite far away).
AspX for exploration: A litte bit less jump range, but very large fuel scoop equipable. Long journeys are more related to scoop-speed than to actual jump range.
Hauler: If you want to be able to transfer it to your current location super cheap.

Diamondback-Explorer (DBX) is the current jump-range king. Mine (Mothra) is A-rated and Engineer-modified, with white-dwarf supercharging I can get over 70 LY, haven't tried neutron-star supercharging yet. o7

Stripped out maxed FSD range Hauler used to be number one budget taxi.
Super cheap, you can probably make a pretty sweet one with Engie mods now :)

If that's not good enough then DBX all the way (and back).

The iCourier is often overlooked in this regard.

Mine's fitted with an SRV bay, has some cargo space (can't recall how much TBH, but it's enough for the odd mission and salvage) and the #3 engines mean you can bung Enhanced Thrusters on it for some proper fun.

The only down-side, of course, is that the cockpit makes you feel like you're flying a space-canoe.

OMG the days of the disposa-Hauler taxi. I even had the yellow and black "taxi" skin.

Ship transfer killed that.

Like others I used the AspX. Never used a DBX yet, but the AspX has everything I need for my engineering gathering in the Bubble as an all purpose general ship...
