Ships for getting around the bubble

Clipper. Looks nice, fast, 35ly is completely enough in the bubble, looks nice, neon lighting, instantly scoops and looks nice

DBX for in-bubble travel: Large jump range (and decent tank) but small fuel scoop; perfect, if you can refuel at your destination (which can still be quite far away).
AspX for exploration: A litte bit less jump range, but very large fuel scoop equipable. Long journeys are more related to scoop-speed than to actual jump range.
Hauler: If you want to be able to transfer it to your current location super cheap.
this is very important point about exploring BIG scoop. a lot of my grind on my last big trip was coming back, and it deterred me from wanting to even log in, coming back from 14200ly out with a tiny scoop and 25ly avg jump. sitting around a star at 70 heat waiting for nearly a minute to scoop was a lot of the wait. if you can scoop to full in a few seconds then you only spend limited time in boring places before jumping, and it makes scoop jump as viable as jump jump jump scooooooooop jump jump jump.

OMG the days of the disposa-Hauler taxi. I even had the yellow and black "taxi" skin.

Ship transfer killed that.

I got the black and white skin, loved that little hauler to bits. Wish there was a way to add another hardpoints or two or swap the single tiny one for a larger and I would certainly still be pootling around in it.

Simple: the DBX. All you need to do is G5 increase range the fsd, no weapons, d rate and down size what you can and you can get around 56ly un-engineered. Great for hoping around the bubble, cheap too

That's not entirely true.

For those with heaps of cash, taxis probably aren't worth the faff but they're still an easy way to save several million credits for the sake of 10 minutes flying.

I can't transfer my Cutter or Corvette anywhere for less than a million credits, even if the destination is only a couple of jumps away.
Well worth the effort of summoning Ollie (my taxi) instead, for about Cr5,000 and then going to collect the big ship and fly it whereever I want myself.

And, besides, he's just been fitted with Enhanced thrusters which are fun for annoying people who interdict me.
I don't attempt to high-wake. I stay just out of range and keep running until they give up and jump away. :p

Another vote for the ASPX. Engineered drives & FSD G5, SRV, 64 Cargo, no weapons, lightweight shields for ruff / hurried landings only, lightweight everything else,

48.9Ly Jump and 551MPS. Mine is called Gofa, as it can do anything except fight, but when interdicted i just submit turn and boost away! use it for missions, passengers, smuggling, surface mining, MEF collection and boring grinding!

Class 6 scope means i can get out to Palin in 7 jumps or up to Ceos in 9 jumps so ruffly about 16 jumps from edge to edge of bubble, plus i have the safety of speed to evade Cmdrs and NPC.

All the above means i tend to spend the most time in game, in this ship. I love it to bits and it is currently kitted out with the rusty, raider pack with spikes, lots and lots of them.

The DBX by an absolute landslide, for reasons stated above and earlier in topic. Long jump range, invisible. It's a long range ninja, literally, it strikes from the dark (silent running) and does huge alpha then disappears into the dark again. Just needs engineering for speed and it's the perfect ship. I have a lot of success with a gimballed L Beam and 2 gimballed M Cannons, or 2 railguns and a large gimballed multi ffor bigger ship hunting and if you're good with the ol' aim. With long range mods on the railguns and a hull tanky build, you can go rail sniper and be virtually untouchable. Boost away, silent running, get 4 clicks out, pop a heatsink and light up the rails with their micro gimballing you can't miss. As they come at you, put down as much alpha as you can in the joust, boost past, rinse, repeat. I took out a Master Vulture yesterday this way, though I must say, the short jousts that did occur were very painful for me, but I'm running a D shield unmodified and no hull mods, so yeh, I was lucky to survive really.

It even has room for a 4 man passenger cabin, which is all you need once you get friendly with a few factions in an area, to make the BIG bucks. It's an amazing space taxi. When on the hunt for engineering mats, swap out that cabin for collector limpets and take the grind out of it (don't you just hate collecting mats one by one in space?)

Plus it looks really cool (edit: Eek! sorry about the size of that, hope it scales for everyone!)...

Another vote for DBX here. It is kinda sluggish but with enough modding you can make it go 350 cruise and 450 boost, and jump 45-50 Ly while having best possible shield and carrying a large weapon. It can outrun any NPC and can easily survive 15 seconds under fire.

As mentioned a Courier can be a good option too, although it has much lower jump range and small fuel tank. It is definitely fast in normal space and lot of fun to fly.

Unsurprisingly another vote for the DBX. That ship keeps almost all of it's jumprange even A-rated. No other ship does that.

lightweight courier can hit 30ly jump range, and speed 650-750 m/s on boost

Mine does 42 ly, with shields, cruises at 640 and boosts to 868. Admittedly, it took a LOT of engineering to achieve this.
