New Ships or Old?

I'm just curious as to whether players would prefer FD continue and stay with only ships that appeared in the original games or make completely new ones that look different from the usual "cheese wedge with dimensional modification xyz".

Computational power had a lot to do with why the old ships were shaped the way they were. Its fine for a few of them to hearken back to that old style, but I certainly hope that the next 15 ships will not all look like the cheese wedge.

Although it was just concept art, I was rather disappointed to see the fer de lance look exactly like a cheese wedge with Viper thrusters on the back.

It's been Lore-wise hundreds of years from since the times of earlier games. So, new designs, new manufactures - yes please, en masse. But also, keep to the old and trusty ones (like with ED's Cobra which is updated version of the old Cobra, etc).

Yes I know, but it's not the 1980s anymore. But currently the ships have about as much variety as coins, I want to see something circular or spherical like those big droid ships in the Star Wars prequels or the Millenium Falcon.

Isn't that the T7?

T7's the old VW

I think there needs to be a balance.

As said by others, give us the old classics in retro format but also make us some entirely new ships that have a new and more advanced visual style.
