Shipwreck Size Discrepancy?

Is it just me or are ships WAY bigger on the landing pad than they are in shipwrecks and in space? The Side-ys and Eagles you find at shipwrecks are like the size of a minivan or two, you can hop right on top of them and cut out panels. They seem the same size or smaller than a contemporary aircraft. Yet, on the landing pad these things are all massive.

Simple test. Buy a sidey and fly down and to a size check. I'd do it myself but I don't own a sidey and I'm a bit far away from my eagle.
This eagle looks like a good size though.

When you're in space your view uses the ship FOV setting, but there's a separate FOV setting for the on-foot view, which can make objects in space look smaller than they would appear close by on foot.

No idea about the purely on-foot difference between yours and wrecked small ships. As commented above a simple test would be to fly your ship close enough to a wrecked one of the same type and measure (external camera would help with this, I guess.) Please report back with screenshots showing the discrepancy, or lack of, if you do this!
