Horizons Shipyards on planets?

I've traveled around and been to many planets, but not once have I seen a shipyard on a surface settlement. I read that Ehrlich City on Mercury has one, so I went to go see. Alas, it too has no shipyard. Did they all disappear in a puff of smoke or something? I'd love to have a planetary base to store all my ships in.

Michael Brooks said it: "The large ring ports have them as well as some of the other surface outposts".

This does beg the question, if we have the issue whereby if you land on a planet (using Horizons of course), then log out, then log back in and start a non Horizons game session (PC or Mac) you are given the option to join your ship in orbit, what happens if you move all of your ships to a base and then start a non Horizons game session?
.
Do they all end up in orbit? : )
.
Probably just your current ship, but you would then not have access to the rest.

Interesting conundrum. It would be great if FD could lay out some of the mechanics around that. Not likely to come up too often, though, surely?
