Shock Cannons vs Interceptors, AX max number

Hi couple of quick questions

Are they effective - Shock cannons vs Interceptors ? Or do they count as "normal" weapons ?

Can you have more then 4 AX weapons (multi/missiles) at the same time on a ship ?

1st Question: I don't think they do any good against goids.
2nd: No.

Ive used them against scouts and they worked quite good, the issue was always ammo. Never used them against an interceptor.
