Newcomer / Intro Shooting System Authority Vessels by mistake

Thank you for the info.
I'm not sure that could be it.
I am still in the beginners area and never seen pirates launch fighters.

If the host ship is wanted then it's highly improbable that its SLF would not be. Also not likely to be a passenger on the Anaconda - other than passenger liners I don't think NPC's carry passengers.

What most likely happened is that at some point you shot a clean NPC ship by accident, and it was subsequently destroyed by other NPC's, but because you shot it within a certain time frame you get credited with the kill. Just the same way that if you help destroy a wanted NPC, even though you don't necessarily get the last shot in you will get credit for the kill. That said, you should have had an assault bounty first, but it's possible that in the heat of the battle you missed it. :)

When you're bounty hunting, it's very important that you check whether the ships that can carry a fighter have one or not. This means Anacondas, Gunships, Kraits and Crusaders (rare in RES). After targeting the ship, move to the 4th tab on the left panel, which is labelled "target". Scroll up to show the modules at the end of the list. The fighter hanger will be shown somewhere around 5 or 6 from the bottom. If there is a fighter hangar, the fighter will get you from behind he moment you open fire on the mothership, so best to wait until the mothership is nearly dead before opening fire. Put 4 pips to shields so that you can tank any fire from the fighter until the mothership blows.

I just noticed that you mentioned using a beam laser in the RES. You will get a lot more bounties against you when you use a beam laser compared with pulse lasers. To be honest, beam lasers don't offer you any advantage for that activity. I'd change back to pulse lasers.

I used to have one burst laser and one multi canon and wasn't doing too good at bounty hunting.
I changed to a burst and a beam and now Im doing pretty good.

You get the same ships in the high RES in Dromi as any other high RES.
