Should guest needs really be left out for launch?

There is literally no evidence that Universal is interefering substantially in the production of this game.

The telltale JP game adds a heap of story to the original story- that would have been approved by universal.

Colin Treverow says that the story of JWE should be considered 'soft cannon'. This is so the game is free to explore things without compromising the quality of the game.

In terms of gameplay features, why would Universal have any say about a game that they aren't funding or developing. That makes absolutely no sense.

The only thing confirmed by the writer of JWE that Universal has rejected was a retcon of a character. That is it.

The devs have specifically stated that Universal has said that this game should not be restricted to only Jurassic World but encompass the entire JP franchise. They want the game to do well. Why wouldn't they?

Obviously, to say that Universal has NO effect on JWE is naive. However, I'm not sure why some people are quick to assume malicious intent when it's a seemingly illogical thing for them to do.

The only realistic effect Universal are having on the game is the timeframe. Sure they have their requirements as the licence provider (i.e. the blood and child death issues) but neither of those would be a fundamental drawback to a game

Lack of time will be the biggest killer. I would say that falls on FD as well though, they knew the time constraints when taking on the project and should either act accordingly or turn the project down (harsh but true)

It's a tricky one, and a potentially unfortunate situation. Nostalgia will only keep people hooked for so long. This has been touted as build your own Jurassic Park/World and has been constantly described as a management game, but communities still have a certain level of expectation on the management side. I feel like the console versions have hurt the PC version tbh, but then how much of that is an excuse?

If the game drops and I can manage the dinos then I have my dino management game. If I can't manage the guests as I would in every other park sim in existence then I'll be disappointed. If there's (what I feel) to be a lack of content or depth in the management aspect then I'll be disappointed, as I feel many will be. Nostalgia will keep me going until July when I expect some large updates to hit because of Fallen Kingdom's release. I'm just hoping that there's enough depth and content to keep me going between updates that will hopefully add more depth and content. Other's might not want to wait that long

Let's see what happens on release

I'm skeptical that they're not allowing blood. Have you seen the deaths from the Telltale game? They are absolutely brutal.

Plus, there is blood in JPOG and basically EVERY PEGI 16 game in the world.
