Should I get a Cobra?

so i went back to viper...but its anemic powerplant is killing me.

i hear you... i can't even put every upgrade to A because of that (and the weight punishment of course)

Ditto on the Viper. I'm in one now and I love it, but it really forces you to think about what you need in upgrades. Still I appreciate the fact that every ship isn't a vanilla box with different wrapping.

my personal opinion.. EVERY cmdr should get a cobra when they can.. The classic ship from the original elite? Who wouldn't want it? I know I'll never ditch mine if only for nostalgias sake

My Cobra has over 23ly jump range, and 40 cargo....superb.

56 cargo if you remove sheilds.

Its a great ship.

Have both, you know you want to. I use my T6 for local hauling and my B class cobra for exploration and rare commodities trading. Love my cobbie

You just have to look at the ship manifests in any solar system to see that Cobra is the #1 flown ship And if you're willing to limit your upgrades, the insurance rate going on a Cobra is quite reasonable. 40T cargo is also what I like to call the sweet spot. You can make roughly 30K doing average hauls, which is a satisfying number.

Yes get the cobra, you'll enjoy it. I had a sidewinder, eagle, hauler, then adder. After flying the adder for quite a while, the cobra felt like an eagle when I bought it, but is much tougher, with much more fire power. Plus you'll have 32-36 cargo, more if you want, so double/triple your returns trading. Plus the firepower means you log bounties faster with 4 guns. It also has good range for exploration. Then just upgrade as you can. The stock cobra you initially get only costs about 6-8K to replace it. As you upgrade, then it can get expensive to insure. If you really like the adder, with the Cobra you'll make credits so fast you can easily replace it.
