Ships Should I trade in for the Clipper?

I currently run a FGS and I'm pretty happy with it at the moment.

However, I have been considering replacing it with a Clipper due the Clipper's cheaper price while still retaining about the same potential in its builds. Frankly, I'm at a loss of what I should do. Should I keep my FGS or trade it out for the Clipper or some other ship? Your opinions and insight are appreciated.

Clipper is much more enjoyable to fly, altogether. It has similarly crappy shields, and instead of by armour, it compensates by speed, so you will need to employ a different tactics.
Jump range is also a bit better, so you will have easier time moving around.

But in the end it all boils down to personal preferences and sympathies. And I can't help you with that. :D

What are you going to do with it? Comes down to what role you want ship to fullfill.
If you're interested in combat performance - FGS is a clear winner. Actually, if you play mostly alone - FAS would be even better.
However, Clipper is a good trader for it's price and you have more flexibility due to better internals.

You should keep the FGS as she's gonna get a significant boost in 2.2. Recommend just stripping and storing her till then if you want to try something else.

Clipper is a solid ship. Good trader and general multirole ship, but be advised she cannot land at outposts as she requires a large landing pad.
