Hi Pilots. Ive been watching Elite now for sometime but im still sat on the fence wondering is the game really worth it atm. Ive seen vids on it from today back a few months and it does take my intrest but it seems that the only part of the game everyone shows is trading. Is this really the only thing other players acually do in the game or is there combat missions and other jobs to do. I know there is a combat area but is that the only one availble atm and i know other pilots do like to do some piracy and bounty hunting work.

All im asking really is for more info on what there acually is to do in the game as ive scouted the forums and ive not really seen much and the youtube vids ive seen are all trading vids. Dont get me wrong the game looks amazing and ive played all elite games and loved um all in my childhood growing up.

All you can really do at the minute is

Trade.
Fly and explore around 50 systems.
Very basic missions.
Combat/Piracy/Bounty hunting
Buy new ships (About 8 or so available)
Upgrade weapons

But its pretty fundamental in a lot areas and some stuff is not available and some stuff we have is in its infancy and not quite how it will be when its finished.

If you are expecting a full complete game I would wait.

But what we have is largely playable, so if you dont mind the fact its unfinished its highly recommended.

Thx for the quick reply and the answers to my post which is as i thought its beta which i knew it was ofc and got some basic stuff in for you to test and give feedback on seems fair tbh as it aint complete. So yeh i might just get this and give it a whirl

Well i bought the game now but im wanting to know how do u acually talk to ur ship as i think that feature is cool but i cant see anything anywhere how to do it.

Dont quote me on this but I think you need to download a thing called voice attack. And I think it costs. I dont know if theres a free solution.

Yep you need voice attack I got it but no longer use it, make sure your commands are explicit and no room for misinterpretation. ( My budgie killed me with one word she tried to copy boost as I used it so much) My wife was in hysterics at my panic and dismay as I went boom on the station wall.

full version is only $8 US so very affordable. will try again with it another time coping well with most mapped to my hotas x at the mo

This isn't beta as in the usual sense of being largely feature complete with some bugs and balancing to be ironed out.

ED currently is a framework for the game, most of the content is missing and core gameplay mechanics are WIP and it's not balanced at all.

Personally I think FD have dropped a bit of a clanger putting this out there are as a beta, it's going to cost them a ton of community and press points. Combination of vertical difficulty curve and missing content is putting quite a few people off by the looks.

yeh i got the program but tbh it was more hassle the wat its worth so i gave up and just loaded the game up and im enjoying it but dam its not so ez as i aint a clue wat and where to trade lol
