Looking for a space sim to get involved with (tired of waiting for star citizen) is this game worth it? Not new to the online experience.

Suppose I should have said I am ready to buy and look for a bunch of heathens to blast cartoon ships with. IF... it's worth it.
It has its subjective faults and quite a few small bugs (at least FD fixes game-breakers pretty quick), but I love the game. I play on Xbox btw so I'm whatever is worse than a heathen I suppose.
(iirc) Steam has the Commander Deluxe Edition (I don't recall exact name) is on sale for $15 (US). Normal price is $60-ish. And it comes with Horizons (aka, Season 2) offering you engineering, landing on planets/moons with no atmosphere and driving/flying a Surface Recon Vehicle (SRV), and access to ships only available with the DLC. Fleet Carriers were just detailed and are coming in June. A new paid DLC is coming 4th quarter this year. Even if you end up not liking ED, it'll only be a $15 disappointment.
