Should the Type-7 be retro-fitted with SLF capabilities?

I'm going with "no", the Type-7 was great to begin with, and the enhancements have just put it over the top. It's a civilian cargo hauler - a job it does quite well. It's cargo space does not need traded off for combat craft.

Not in favour. It's a freighter and should feel like one.

Improvements to cargo bay make sense. Allowing you to let the tyres down an squeeze it into a medium bay makes sense, but fitting it with fighters just wouldn't feel right to me.

Of course what it really needs feel is a set of fluffy dice as standard equipment, but I suppose we can't have everything

I'd vote YES for T7 Toaster!

I haven't taken mine out in 2.2 yet. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Mines were the only thing that made them viable. NPCs actually dodge them now apparently. So I'm guessing the T7 just went back to Sitting Duck category.

I shouldn't think an unsupported fighter will do you much good. It needs backup. Are you planning to fight? In a T7? Then you're gonna die, fighter or no. If you're going to run instead then you don't need a fighter!

You and I think alike

Just was having a look at all the hatches etc on the Type 7, included the extra dorsal hard-point and I was wondering, if one could, theoretically, attach a Sidewinder to the top side hatch like thing.
Could Mate with the Universal Cargo Hatch on the underside of the sidewinder.
Fit snuggle into the depression on the Hull of the Type 7
And at ~50 tons not be much of a burden to the Transporter

Why not? SLF for every ship with a class 5 slot I say - except ASPs, they can't have one.

My first instinct is to say "no" here. However, I would like to see more weaponized versions of the Lakon haulers along the lines of the Keelback. Having a more expensive version of the Type-7 which includes a fighter bay and some other goodies could be pretty neat.

How about having a marauder variant of each transport ship?
So the T6 has the Keelback
The T7 variant could get her lost 2 small hardpoints, the 2 cockpit hardpoints changed to medium. Also lose one class 6 compartment a better power plant, and thrusters, a lighter hull and a fighterbay.
Say at a prize point around 25m cr.

The t-7 deserve a SLF, it's too weak and cost a lot of money
