I'd like to add too ... ability to lock gates. This would be useful for routing rangers (rangers on auto can't go through a locked gate but must choose an unlocked gate instead) and .. for isolation enclosures;
I've got a 5000 star Indominus on Off-Grid Tacano (she five stars the entire park on her own!! screenshots to follow). To take the pressure off her I'm populating the island park area with herbivores that she would kill on sight, so I've sectioned off an area of the paddock, lured her in with a feeder. Once she's inside, close gate and sedate while construction happens.
Now this dinosaur is worth a FORTUNE - corn fed on Indoraptors mostly - so while I can send a ranger to check on her now and again, what I'd really like to do in this situation (which is maybe a bit roleplay-ish) is station a ranger next to her, to closely observe and possibly give a health boost if needed. A ranger unattended will return to base though, so if I could lock the gate they'd be stuck there, keeping an eye on the sedated animal. I've plenty of spare jeeps.
I would suggest a 'soft' lock idea;
Clicking a gate gives option to open/close as usual. Any new option to lock, would close and lock an open gate, or just lock a closed one. To unlock ... manually drive a ranger up to the gate, which opens as usual and unlocks entirely. Locking is therefore a way to manage AI jeeps but if I'm driving obviously that's a park management decsion if I do something stupid. It also makes locking a gate a commitment, easy to do but you will have to go out there to unlock it again.
