Simple suggestion! I think I made it before, but it's not in my history.
Basically bring up the pitch ladder, and other planetary flight HUD elements when approaching all bodies, including stars, and black holes.
Ideally with working gravity in normal space, for all bodies.
The only difference being you obviously can't descend too far without hitting the exclusion zone, going beyond that for all non-landable planets, and stars should rapidly increase heat, to the point it's suicide to dive deeper.
This would make stars and black holes quite dangerous in normal space, as the high gravity could quickly overpower your engines, causing a massive heat buildup.
Crashing in to objects would be very dangerous, but your pitch ladder would assist you with avoiding the exclusion zone, by showing your current pitch, and altitude in relation to the exclusion zone in the HUD, much like when it displays "DRP" for Orbital cruise.
You'd also get a warning when you're close to the exclusion zone, rather than the current method, where it can sometimes be a complete surprise. Lol
If possible, have a toggle in the functions menu, that only displays it ladder for landable planets, for those that wouldn't like it.
On a semi related note, could we get a toggle for the pitch ladder in rings, which align with the rings "horizon", no other information is needed, except maybe a sort of altimeter, that shows your ship in relation to the mass lock and the center of the ring (+2km to -2km?). I find something oddly cool about pitch ladders, and we don't get enough orbital combat to fight with them on the HUD.
This would help when fighting in pitch black rings, where it's hard to figure out "up" or "down" when trying to leave.
Thoughts?
