Shut Up & Take My Money

Never have I ever before place a preorder. I've even scoffed at times in doing so with a preorder because, well you know the saying: caveat emptor

Until now [money]

I have read up on multiple PC & Xbox reviews. Watched numerous videos, gawked at stunning screenshots. Have reviewed the updates to see how far it's come plus studied manuals to get up to speed

I know I will not be disappointed. I reckon I'm going to be vested for hundreds of hours to become Elite. As June comes around, the 27th day of reckoning for us PS4'ers draws ever closer. Bring it!

I'm sure you will enjoy the game. I've played the game since launch and the only reason I'm not playing it at the moment is due to hardware problems.

But I've never been keen on this idea of dangling carrots to get people to preorder. Of course it's great for FD, and the more money they get the more money they can spend making the game better.

We are just talking about a golden Sidewinder, and the chances are it won't feel that special seeing as everyone else who preordered's got one as well.

I guess the reason why I'm saying that people should wait for a review from a trusted site of the Playstation version of the game is because I'm sure that Frontier will manage to maintain the high standard of the other versions of this game.

Anyway! Welcome to the Elite Galaxy! There have been people who have been waiting a long time for a PS4 version and I'm glad to see they finally have their wish. One thing you'll find about this community is the enthusiasm they have for this game and their willingness to help newcomers, whether it's on this forum or someone you meet out in the game itself.

This is me 100%. I cannot wait any longer, the days need to pass quicker.

Make up a Jelly (Jello for those with an american persuasion)
instead of using 3/4 a pint of water as instructed, replace that with vodka, or preferably absinthe
it'll take longer than normal to set, but once it does, Scoff the lot.

...see you in a couple of weeks when you wake up.

*laughs* and when they do wake they will be the *green* fairy ;-)

Admit it, you were just after the GoldWinder. ;)

I almost cracked a few weeks ago and bought the PC version but as my laptop struggles with anything above the most basic surfing I thought that I might not get the most positive experience of Elite: Dangerous.
As the days tick down (now less than four weeks), my resolve is hardening again.

Not only do I never preorder, I never purchase at release day prices. I always wait for a sale, often a big sale like Black Friday. That usually means waiting months, sometimes even a year or more before I purchase a AAA game. I want, want, want HZD and a few other games very badly, but I'm waiting until November (unless a major sale comes before then). I'm not a rich man.

However, Frontier now has my $60 :D Yes, that's a full-tooth grin. Elite Dangerous isn't just a game, it's something totally other, something more. This was my first and likely last preorder / full-price buy. I've been waiting for this game since I wore out the original on my Commodore 64!

Even in its WIP state Elite is totally worth it I think. It is easy to spend hundreds of hours in this game's universe.
There has never been a spacesim like this, with a beautiful true to scale simulation of our galaxy with this much detail... and FD is planning to build at this universe for years to come. It is a unique technical accomplishment.

To actually being able to enter a huge and immensely detailed spacestation, or going down to the surface of real sized planets is an incredible experience.
Computer technology has come so far. For someone like me who played Frontier: Elite II a lot this is a dream come true.

Be aware though that this is a game in the middle of development, with a planned development of at least 10 years. The game is build while you are in it and this means players need to be patient and should not expect to get everything they want tomorrow (the forums can be a whine fest sometimes).

Personally I think it is great to be part of this project.

I'd love to buy an Elite logo'd PS4 or XBOX from the FD Website complete with game. I think they missed a trick there...
