Sidewinder miner?

is it a could idea to swap out my shield generator and a pulse laser and pick up a mining laser and a refinery and go poke at some asteroids?

The cargo capacity is a bit too small unless you go for gold then, with no shield, holding on to your high value cargo might be tricky.

Maybe an eagle with upgraded power plant?

i haven't looked into fitting my eagle for mining... kinda looked at the 2 tons of cargo and thought "not happening" ...though with its increased speed it may not be that much of an issue? there is also a fact that if i loose the sidewinder i'm out a refinery and a mining laser... i loose the eagle im out an eagle, and ALL of its equipment.
