Sidey killing. Am i a bad man?

I havent had much PVP experience, so far only an enounter with a cobra that attacked me at an anarchy asteroid belt got him down to 30% hull before he ran.
However today i was hanging around at Eravate nav beacon and 2 player sidewinders became wanted when they scraped my vipers shields while trying to kill steal my wanted npc adder.
Now im usually very understanding when it comes to accidental fire incidents, im not into griefing noob sidewinders and 200cr isnt worth my time, ill even message players to warn them they are wanted and should run to a station to pay off the bounty.
So i was happy to leave these 2 sidewinders alone but then there was laser fire .... but not at me, it seems one of the sideys had decided to try and collect the others bounty. I felt this was in bad sport and proceeded take out the attacker with a couple blasts from my burst lasers and let the other sidey run off home.
Does this make me a bad man and the kind of noob griefer others whine about?

You wouldn't be a bad man if you took out both of them, stole their cargo, found their home space address, gone there and ransacked their antique porcelain duck collection.

What is it with the moral panic in this game, go PvP, kill or be killed. 'nuff said.

Nope, you defended someone from an opportunist who was trying to take advantage of a friendly fire mishap - for that, you should be proud.

From the perspective of the game there's absolutely nothing wrong with this. Of course only you can judge how your conscience feels about it...

It did feel nice standing up for the little(er) guy.
Ive seen a couple times at nav points loadsa sideys who will turn on any guy that gets a 200cr FF wanted. Ive decided in future ill try to get in the middle of their fire, give the guy a chance to escape and maybe get some more of them wanted, watch them turn on each other.

Its is a shame you cant send you kills a message after the fact those i suppose people would get sick of annoying gloating 'Ha ha i blew up your noob sidewinder with my python for no reason because i could'

if you incur one of these FF bounties and your first move is not retracting hard points and bailing into SC, anything that happens to you is your own fault.

You have an advantage, you get the warning flashing on your screen right away. The other players will need a second or two to realize you're wanted now.

Thank you, seriously. I am getting beyond sick of the forum warriors who cry and complain because someone attacked them. "Griefers and terrorists" they say. You bought a game called elite:dangerous not soft:cuddly. Grow a pair and deal with the harsh realities of the game, or go hide in solo mode. Or maybe this isn't your cup of tea... MS flight simulator came out recently and I heard it is beautiful.
