Signed Print

i guess that mr B has them all too busy to let someone pop to the postbox;) at the mo what with alpha looming. well lets be honest they might try to sneak a quick nap in :p

guess the plan is to unchain one of them after relese but before we start to report any bugs. :D

Really ? The foreign people who I know who know Brits all say we love to complain ... stiff upper lip kind of drooped years ago and we have so much catching up to do that we complain all the time .. oh hang on .. that might just be me :D

:D

There's also an aspect here of I didn't pledge money just to get goodies - I want the game. And at the time, the more money that was pledged, the likelier it would be that the game would be made. So yeah, the signed prints cost £30 or so, but I never thought of it as "buying" them. Same with the books - backed all of them I could find, but if some don't materialise, well... c'est la vie... it's another £4500 in the E: D kitty isn't it.

Seeing as I had forgotten that Elite - Dangerous has been in production for the last year and have only been backer for almost a month. I did pledge to get some goodies, a lot of background information. As well as access to the game. Originally, I had been under the impression that this game might only be made available to backers. Now, I have reason to believe that this game may be available to public after march next year. Perhaps much later.

I didn't think funding for any of the books related to Elite - Dangerous would really be funding the game.

Not that I think that's a bad thing.

I guess the more money that gets pumped into Elite - Dangerous after it's been initially funded, the more they do with it.

It was always the plan to release the game to the general public - FD wouldn't bother to make the game for 38,000 people - they're looking at potentially millions of sales (spread over hopefully many years).

The public retail release will probably not happen in March now, as David wants to have an extended "gamma" period for backers only where the majority of the issues are spotted and ironed out.

The "writer's pack" cost £4500, and most of the book authors launched a Kickstarter to fund the E: D Kickstarter pledge. It was a brilliant idea that began as a bit of a joke, but took off in a major way. So each successful book project funded the game to the tune of £4500. :)

My credit card is still weeping though, even now... :D

In a light of XR retail release problems, it is just mandatory.
