Silent running warning

Just a heads up, a completely random glitch just occurred involving silent running and rotational correction. Had a 30 second power cut whilst playing ED, reloaded the game and my ship had silent running engaged, I was unable to disengage SR through my keyboard/HOTAS or voice attack, my T9 with 8 mill worth of cargo was starting to burn up.

It turns out that silent running had switched to HOLD INPUT MODE all by itself in the control menu, same deal with rotational correction. Never seen something like that in over a year of playing ED :/

Probably a 1 in a million chance of it happening, may just explain those random explosions cmdrs reported on the landing pads

What does hold input mode do? Never seen it in the options.

You have two options for a few of the ships controls - TOGGLE or HOLD INPUT

Hold input requires a constant input via keyboard or controller to engage or disengage. For example, flight assists off - You have to hold the button on your controller to keep FA engaged (or disengaged) depending on your setup.

Silent running had reverted to always on, the only way to disengage it was to hold the OFF button, I managed to get back into the menu and switch it back to toggle before my ship blew up.

Wierd glitch, glad you didn't get too toasty.

Every time I have a HOTAS glitch its because the kids get in here, flip a switch on my Warthog throttle and I don't notice until I sail into the station roof or drag my Anaconda across the station floor at full throttle!

My recent glitch is having to drop to a 1/2 size fuel tank just to manage what had been a perfectly normal 2-jump trade route - after something glitched and suddenly it was three jumps. No change to fit, just suddenly oh that's three jumps now please sir. (What, my FSD is on holiday?).
Somehting to do with total mass - all my cargo was normal (full 452t), but route planner said 'Noooo'.

Logged in a day later and it was back to normal... very odd.

You could have exited to the game menu and modified the controls there - no risk of overheating if you're not in the game.

It's obviously a bit of a weird bug, but who on earth would want a 'hold to deactivate' Silent Running. Would mean going around holding a button under all other situations. Shouldn't really apply this way round, perhaps Frontier should fix this.

It makes sense to anyone with a HOTAS with silent running set on a two-position switch.

I'm set to Hold Input for silent running; I have it mapped to the EAC switch on my Warthog throttle. The switch is either in the on, or off position. Both are 'holding' their respective command ie silent on or silent off (normal).
