Newcomer / Intro Silly Boy!

Why, why oh why did I not bother checking the system map before I jumped a 4th time in a row without refuelling in my Sidewinder! I took it for granted that the next system would have at least one outpost or station that I could refuel at…wrong!, I was left stranded in deep space…I aimed for the nearest system that I may have ben able to limp to and watched the distance counter drop down to below a days travel! I let the ship travel forward pondering if the fuel would last and if it was possible to leave the P.C. running in the vain hope I might reach safety…then I trawled through the internal system menus and inexplicably turned off the thrusters!!! Oh dear, the ship spun out of FSD and floated aimlessly in DEEP space...the days travel became a years journey time…Good Night Vienna and goodbye to my ship and Commander. Only myself to blame, I'm not aware of any other way I could have salvaged the situation?
A hard lesson learnt.

Just so you know you can't actually reach other systems in supercruise. You can reach the star, but the planets around it won't load unless you jump in through hyperspace.

Yep. I did this in the gamma phase while out exploring (without a fuel scoop!). Thought I'd learned my lesson. Nearly did it again recently though. Just noticed before my next jump in a planned route. That jump would have taken me to a system with no stations/outposts. Had to search for another system with a station, that was within range.

We've all been there. I did it on my second day playing

Been there, done that. Twice in succession would you believe. In the early days i was labouring under the assumption that once i got to systems with no planet data i would be able to find planets and stations.

This ship will self destruct in ..... 5 ..... 4 ..... 3 ..... 2 ..... 1 ..... BANG.

I did it early on in a fully loaded T6. I flew around until I was completely out of fuel. Took that long for it to sink in that I was sunk. Doh!

Did it too in the first few days, trying to reach a system (Rotanev) in a bare-bones Sidewinder, and the only reachable route had about 4 or 5 systems in a row with no stations (I didn't know that until I reached them, but I should have been able to guess by the system names). D'oh.

go to Sui Guei first (Acala Dock has a medium good outfitters) then jump into Rotanev .....

get a cheap cheap scoop and refuel @ the 2nd or 3rd jump .... Can't remember which exactly

I took my freshly purchased and upgraded Vulture (6M cr) on 100LY trip to sell my Cobra and tried to refuel at the third system per my flight plan. Forgot to check if the 3rd system on the flight plan had a station. It didn't. I had enough fuel for one more jump. The map showed only one within range. Fortunately it had a station but it was over 50K LS away! 10 min later, I finally reached it. After refuel, I bought the biggest fuel scoop they had. Felt really stupid about my flight plan at that point!

Sounds like a slight bug here. could do with situation changing once you drop out of SC.
I'd suggest on re-entry to SC, your instance switches to next system.

.. will post this to the suggestions forum ...
