Silly question but how do you scoop cargo?!

Hi all,

I had a mission to go somewhere to pick up some cargo that was just lying around and bring it back. I jumped to the system, flew around until I discovered the signal and found iyt it was what I was after then........had no idea how to pick it up!!

- I looked for an option to scoop cargo and found none
- I got to within touching distance to the canister and nothing happened (i even went at it from different angles!!)
- I went back to the station to see about fitting a cargo scoop of some kind but found none available!

HELP!

I may be asking the most newbish question on here, and for that I apologise, but would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to pick up floating cargo!!

If you're on a PC.. is the [Home] key

Edit: and if you do find the binding in options, you might want to unbind [End].. which dumps all your cargo into space.

I think that I customed the Classic setting, but I hold B and hit up on the D pad to get the scoop out.

Don't feel silly, do you know how long it took me to figure out how to exit supercruise! Too long! I'm glad to say that in this forum (and community) you could go and ask questions without people mocking you or making you feel dumb. Im playing this game non stop form day 1. Still cant figure out what hardpoints i want..

Though i do admit, im just starting to fight in this game. Bin an explorer/trader most of the time.

Bounty hunting and combat zones are all I really have been doing. I have dabbled in the occasional smuggling, but not much else. I am looking at buying a smuggling diamondback, but right now, I'm just pew pewing away at some pirates, I'm not the best in the business, but I could answer some questions for you.
