silver back gorillas and the binturong

No. Correcting someone and stating facts isn't rude at all. However, since we are in a forum and we can only read and not hear the voice of someone, just hearing facts can sometimes come across rude. I'm sure that was no ones intention, but I know the feeling.

What helps (at least it does help me): Just remember you always learn something when someone corrects you. You build up knowledge, you can appreciate worlds creatures even more and you are a more educated person from one second to another. I think this is pretty awesome about this forum and the game. So maybe that helps you with it. :)

As someone who is sensitive to language I still think, everyone would feel more relaxed if we can put facts into more than one sentence. It helps with not hearing the tonation of something, in my opinion.
Certain words can be rude its how you placed them

I'm hoping for a Western lowland too, that would be the only subspecies which would make sense, although there seem to be some Cross river gorillas in European zoos.

One female to be specific 😅
Aren't you confunding it with the G. beringei female from Antwerpen?
At least there were some discussions about the possibility that some G. g. diehli made it to Europe and contributed to the zoo pool, there were planed on doing some genetic research but I don't know what happened to that.

You are right.

Anyways, if some G. dielhi did made it to Europe, their genes are now certainly lost in the gene pool. Here is hope that if some did come, it wasn't big number and we do have a clean population in Europe and not "zoomix"
