Simple Exploration Suggestions

A few people in another thread indicated this was a good suggestion series for exploration.

1) Dramatically reduce payout for scanning already-discovered bodies. No more road-to-riches.

2) Dramatically increase first-discovered bonus - enough that it pays MORE to do legit exploration than it does now...or at least no less (considering suggestion number one is also implemented)

3) Add a "system fully explored" bonus for scanning every body

4) add a "level four" scan when you are right next to the exclusion zone. This would make us see those beautiful planets close up - its odd you can do full detail exploration on a tiny spec on the screen. For landable bodies make a "level 5 scan" as well that can only be done with some form of surface prospecting in your SRV - maybe driving a certain distance from an unload point or something.

5) Make black holes dangerous again!!!

While those changes would help with the exploration rewards, it doesn't fix the whole lack of gameplay issue. Rewarding people for scanning every body is OK, but making people WANT to scan every body because the process is fun and engaging is the better way to go. Don't just incentivize people to do boring tasks with good rewards- make the task not boring.

Agreed with what you said, I've done my shear of scanning planets and needs to be fun, money is not always the answer.

1 and 2 would be perfectly fine by me. 3 and 4 would be fine, but they wouldn't really add any depth that exploration desperately needs.

5 though, oh boy. I will say that the first time I visited a black hole I was rather disappointed. I got stopped about 15-20km from it by the invisible wall. There was absolutely no risk involved in the encounter. I would agree that black holes should probably be a bit more dangerous. As for how, giving them some gravitational pull and an event horizon (aka an invisible wall of instant death) should do the trick.
