Simple Noob question?

Yes, i Know.............. been playing for 6k hours+, have 3 accounts, triple elite and i bloody well can't fathom this out................

After Wake Scanning, i have a destination of the wake, but how do i then quickly plot that course so i can follow on? I am sure it is simple, but i have pressed every button to try.

The scenario is when i have a PvP tussle and the perpetrator high wakes i want to be able to follow without dely the high wake scan.

A Hundred Thanks you's

If you have targeted a wake and scanned it, all you have to do is hyper-jump as it automatically set destination to that system.

Really.......DOH!!

Said it was a Noob Questions....

a 1000's thank you's

Hides face in shame!

Bah. Considering how often people use this feature, it's really nothing to be ashamed of.
.
What this thread reminds me is that some time ago I really would've wanted improvements to traveling in a wing. The current system is a bit cumbersome:
- You lock to the leader.
- You get your notification that your leader charges the FSD.
- The leader jumps.
- Only after the leader jumped out, your FDS starts charging up.
- On a multi-jump route, this means that the leader has to wait at each system again till everybody arrived.
.
And that's without mentioning that currently it's absolutely essential that the one with the shortest jump range (and thus most likely the least experienced player) plots the route and leads.
.
Luckily, two aspects took the pressure out of this for me. On one hand, multi-crew allows people to be better coordinated. It's only one ship, after all. On the other hand, my friends by now are only in game once every few months. So coordinating with them is not a frequent thing any more. Although I also dare to say that the second part, up to some degree, is caused by the problems of coordination.

Just wondering, does that work when the destination exceeds your max jump range?

I somehow thought the OP was asking about route plotting to the destination when their jump range is small (valid scenario when ganking traders in PvP FDL)

Not 100% sure, but if I recall correctly you just get the message about exceeding your jump range. I don't think it auto plots a route.

This was my thought about OP's query. I'd expect that the wake destination if selected would be visible in galmap, so I guess you'd just plot a route? Probably it would auto plot when you entered galmap with the destination selected.

But really I have no idea!

Pretty sure the wake destination doesn't show in Galmap. It just sets a destination based on whatever scanned wake you currently have targetted. Galmap can be misleading, as if you already had a destination set it would display this. But you would jump to the wake destination instead.
I think the wakes only work for as long as the wakes themselves last, so if you wait too long, it's gone.
