Simple slider -> Great QoL improvement

Basicly this:

Why can't we have nice thing's FD?

Indeed.
There's no sliders in the game now.
OK, so I'll try to make it easy:
  • Left/right arrow buttons make number go smaller/bigger.
  • Suggested additonal slider would also make numbers smaller/bigger and could be used with a mouse.
  • Left/right arrow buttons would still make numbers smaller/bigger (and cause slider to move accordingly).

Thanks!
So the slider will give nothing to gamepad users.
And yet it is not clear what problems should solve the slider.
Adding slider just because of slider makes no sense.
So let's guess:
  • as a cargo carrier I want to get max value.
  • as a cargo carrier I want to get specific amount of cargo.
For both cases the slider is not optimal solution because:
  • to get max it is better to get "max" button which requires single click
  • sliding here and there to get specific amount with a slider is a pain, so input field with text is way better (and yet not suitable for gamepads)
I still might be missing something.

for me, only one I like is the one in the carrier for add/remove credits.

It's the only one I know where you can actually save time and just type in a number.
another option that is easy yet more tolerable than the current system is what android and apple and microsoft use in their clocks....

Thanks!

It's ok for something to benefit keyboard/mouse/hotas users without interfering in how it's done on the console. But in any case (bearing in mind I have never played Elite with a gamepad); let's say the directional pad can be moved to highlight the left, slider & right options, then button a can be used for left / right buttons and the joystick can be used to move the slider with increasing increments the further you move the joystick. Would that work?
