Simple solution to 'Insta-ship' transfer (sell and rebuy)

I really like the idea of being able to transfer my ship(s) but also agree with others that having an instant transfer breaks with the immersion a little. I think a simple solution to this would be;

'Insta-sell-and-rebuy' (I need to work on the name!)

If you want your ship sent to the new station you've just landed at then just have an extra facility in the shipyard page that effectively sells your current ship (where ever it is), complete with weapons, cargo, paint job, etc. Then re-buys all this at the station you're in. The difference in sale / rebuy cost could even take care of the convenience of getting it the instantly.

Effectively your ship, albeit a 'copy', is now at the station you're in.

If you wanted added realism you would only be able to do this at stations that already have your type of ship in the shipyard. And if you wanted extra realism you would only be able to transfer the cargo that was currently available at the station you were currently in (although this seems a bit harsh).

Alternatively (as mentioned on the forum (can't find it right now)), if you wanted your exact ship with its exact cargo, then you would have to wait for the ship to be delivered at the current fastest hyperspace jump times (i.e. your ship would be temporarily upgraded to the best over-charged FSD and would get to you the quickest time the current rules of the game allow).

Anyone who actually believes this is lacking in a classical education.

Hell I'd argue they've been living under a rock for the last decade.

Why?

First, there is the concept of how wormholes work. You can find an excellent easy to understand explanation in the book "A Wrinkle In Time" if you mentally substitute the word "Tesseract" with "Wormhole".

Second, you need to Think With Portals.

Third, go read the Galnet entry for August 12th of 3302 and pay close attention to the Economic Turmoil article. I wrote a topic about it and it's possible implications for navigating the galaxy before the Gamescon reveal. Called that one right considering the updated plotter and ship transfer.

Seriously. Don't make me go into the long explanation. I don't think you could handle it if this REALLY breaks your immersion.
