Simulation changes for colonies

I am hoping someone already figured this out, I am wondering a couple of things.

I created a mining settlement, and it started producing things fairly quickly (in small quantities for now). I have noticed the settlement also has items it wants to buy (which is to be expected). And I mean after I completed and it's now operating normally, I don't mean the construction items.

If I were to supply those items, would the outpost start producing items quicker?

The other thing I noticed is that it has mission panels as well, but it is still empty. When would those start appearing? On Thursday?

That's not how a normal station economy works, but give it a try and let us know what happens.

(Exception: one of the likely effects of you supplying in-demand goods will be pushing the station controlling faction to Boom state, which does give a general increase in both production and consumption of various goods)

For me mission boards started working the Thursday after the station was finished.

This one. Economies don't really do anything sane with the market... it's just there for trading's sake.

It would be nice if it did that, but alas.

The current assumption is that the amount of items produced / consumed will be influenced by the various values of Population, Wealth, Standard of Living and Development. Also by the economy of the system. And possibly the security level.

The details of these are not yet known, and we are trying hard to make sense of it.

Our collective assumption is that the supply and demand levels do not depend on trade activity. I tried to test this by supplying some goods to my "Colonization" economy. And so far the behavior is just the same as it was before. Which is: Recurring trading activity influences price and supply/demand, but it reverts back to it's base levels pretty quickly. will not do any intense test, though, if only because it never worked this way before and we already tested this years ago.
