Possibly related to the failure to automatically respond to being launched from Oculus Home and switching to the HMD if configured differently. Whatever integration there was between Oculus Home and Elite seems to have been broken.

It was working fine for me today, played for 3 hours.

I opened Oculus Home, from my game library on home opened Elite, had no issues.

I have Elite on Steam, but it opens through the Oculus Home Library, worked just fine.

Only use dash for the desktop view.
But worked perfectly normal yesterday.

I've not tested it yet, but Dash used to work in seemless mode when Elite was launched from Oculus Home. If it no longer does this as the op suggests then Dash isn't working as it should for users launching the game from Oculus Home - Which would be ashame as seemless Dash is 100% better than Void Dash.

Well, for me, since the update, starting the Oculus version from within Oculus Home (the Commander Deluxe Edition icon thing, got a key from FD store) no longer starts the game itself, but only the launcher. The game itself runs ok, but it's a little annoying to switch to the VR desktop and then manually clicking the launch button for Horizons. Must be some config or command line parameter, I don't know. Any idea how to fix this? 3.2 booted up with no problem.

I assume it's a new version of the launcher - have you re-entered your username / password and then checked the remember / auto login box (can't remember its exact name)?

Since the new update ED no longer works for me on the rift - it launches ok on the desktop but if i go into options, graphics, there is no option to select the rift as the display. My only option is primary - does anyone know how to fix this?

Are you starting it in desktop mode instead of VR?

nope, starting it as i always did, through the rift interface - with this new patch, all that happens is the splash screen comes up and says "loading..." and nothing ever happens. Eventually the ED interface comes up on the desktop - if i press play there, then the game launches but only through the desktop. It has to be the patch; it was working before.

Oculus home just starts the Launcher

I've even reinstalled the game but with the same result

I have the same "problem", now I only get the launcher after starting from Oculus home.

However, during the Beta I had to use EDProfiler to avoid the auto-start, as that was the only way I could select Chapter 3 Beta. So to me, this might be a "fix" for that.

Even with that in mind it is still a little annoying when I think I have exited out of ED, only to see Oculus reporting it still running because the launcher is behind some other window.

No, but then, the game didn't ask for re-authentication and I can login from the launcher without problems. It was so that Oculus updated ED and since that, starting from within Oculus Home ended at the launcher. I know there is a parameter (I think it's /edh) that must be passed to directly boot into Horizons, as I got a separate Steam installation where Steam asks you which version to launch and then directly boots the game. Obviously, the Oculus version forgot about that.

EDIT: The new ED Launcher it is. Tried on my notebook which only has the Steam install and also tried via a desktop shortcut to EDLaunch.exe, passing /edh to the command line. In both cases, the launcher is started, but without the usual selection list and just the blue 'PLAY' button available. Selecting the desired game type inside Steam (ED, ED:Horizons, SteamVR) leads to the same results. Now you always have to press the PLAY button to proceed. No wonder Oculus has the same issues.

Yup! Have had to start the game via the launcher on my monitor, instead of inside Oculus. Still runs fine in Oculus, but a bit annoying that I can't start it with the goggles on

are you able to open windows after it starts?
I also sit there waiting for the game to start only to notice the launcher is open on the desktop.
It's okay unless I am playing without a monitor
but when I do have the monitor on I want dash to work ingame.

You don't switch to the rift by changing the display. Under "3D" there should be an option for "HMD (headphones)", selecting that should switch from desktop mode to the rift.

Same issue here:

I don't even get to the launcher stage. In Home i select ED from my Library, it tries to start, but nothing happens, no Launcher, no game. Re-installed Oculus, Reinstalled ED. Works as usual if i start the game from Windows desktop icon.

Also i can longer switch from Game to dash, then select Monitor, which means taking the headset off to view the desktop.

All working 100% before ED update. Tried coming out of Beta, then back in, tried the OR Patch....Nuffin at all!

OR forum is next to useless, with lots of suggestions to re-install OR, and one even said re-install windows...Yesh right you mans wee wee thing, course i am gonna do that!!
