since the update dash no longer works

Same issue here:

I don't even get to the launcher stage. In Home i select ED from my Library, it tries to start, but nothing happens, no Launcher, no game. Re-installed Oculus, Reinstalled ED. Works as usual if i start the game from Windows desktop icon.

Also i can longer switch from Game to dash, then select Monitor, which means taking the headset off to view the desktop.

All working 100% before ED update. Tried coming out of Beta, then back in, tried the OR Patch....Nuffin at all!

OR forum is next to useless, with lots of suggestions to re-install OR, and one even said re-install windows...Yesh right you mans wee wee thing, course i am gonna do that!!

Well as ED starts from it's own launcher ok, the problem must be something Oculus did in their 1.33 patch which launched the same day. I would contact Oculus.

As written above, I'm fairly certain the problem is with the launcher and not Oculus. If you start the game in Oculus Home, it starts the launcher on the VR desktop (you don't see it until switching there in Home) and stays there. You have to switch to the VR desktop and click on the PLAY button, from then on, everything's alright (for me at least). Previous launcher versions directly booted into the game, the new one requires an additional click and unless you found out about the desktop thing, it seems ED is stuck. It isn't, it's just waiting for user input. If the launcher doesn't start at all, there might be something else broken ofc. And I redeemed the Oculus key from the FD website, didn't try with my secondary installation yet.

As I wrote, it's the same with the Steam version which previously booted directly as well, so I'm fairly certain they changed the launcher behaviour and dropped the 'redirect'.

Wrote a bug report about this, no reply yet though: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ymore-when-launched-from-Oculus-Home-or-Steam

There was an update to oculus about 5 days ago and since that dash has been a bit wonky but it is working.

Chiefly when it does go odd it resets and reloads itself.

Haven't really been doing much other than elite lately but I think this has happened once or twice without ed even running at all.

So it might not even be an FD problem.

Also I cannot bring up the Oculus desktop pull out screen into ED anymore. I think ED changed something since the the pull out screen work with other games and things.

Wish i could, but their site won't allow you to sign in or Register, and you need to do either to post on the support forum. I wonder if it on purpose as their latest release was Biowaste? or am i pointing the wiggly finger at the wrong organisation??

I think we are looking at a broken window and a broken vase.

While two kids are standing shiftily in the room, one holding a wiffle bat the other a nerf gun.

I surmise two things are broken, neither party is innocent, but which broke what ?

As usual TorTorden a good post from you. Are we ever likely to find out one asks?

BTW, what the flip is a wiffle bat? ;)

A tiny bat made out of a thin shell of plastic.

often bright yellow in colour.

Its empty and plastic somewhat flexible so you can safely wail at some one without much harm.
It also has a small hole in the handle so ad you wail on someone air escape and it makes a 'whiff noise.

Also some have filled these with concrete and they become absolutely lethal.
But the also no longer make the 'whiff' so no fun.

Regarding Dash and pulling out individual windows to pin. If it is not working try going into dash and look at the settings under experimental. There is a setting that allows you to pull individual windows. For some reason this setting changed last weekend on my PC and I had to reenable it.

Yeah they have been mucking around with things like this.
They also, a few months ago changed how you grab and move them.

Now you push the trigger and then the grab button to pull the window.
