Single bind to toggle look to turn on panel

It would be a huge QOL improvement in VR if we could bind a button to enable the panel pop up when looking at them.

Fly around gazing at all the wonders of the universe unobstructed, but when we actually want to do something with the ship. Hit the toggle button and now we can look to the panels to bring them up.

The only option is to turn off look to panel and bring each one up with 4 separate button binds. This would consolidate that to one and we could use our head to choose which one to bring up.

Good idea. I mean, i don't even play in VR, i merely use an eye tracker and think that i would uses this. So i'm all for it.

TrackIR user here. If I want to "focus" a panel I just use the HOTAS "UI Focus" button with the POV direction to bring the required UI panel into use - of course I also use HCS / VA to bring up a panel on command too. Are these methods not of use in VR?

Not that I object to yet another control binding, the more the merrier. ;)

I've got a t-flight hotas X and my easy to reach shift buttons on the throttle are pretty much used up.

So where are you going to put your proposed new assignment? How would that differ from using the "UI Focus" assignment that currently exists?

Have you tried combinations of these settings? -

Just suggestions, as I said it works for me using the UI Focus even though I have panels set to focus on looking-at (pressing the UI Focus button un-focusses too).

P.S. I repeat - I don't object to the original suggestion.

It would effectively be a toggle for UI focus - so with the toggle off looking in the direction of the various panels does nothing, and toggle on looking opens the relevant panel.

I don't have any trackers or VR, but I do use mouse look from time to time and it was annoying that the panels open when I just want to look out the window...

So yeah +1.
