I am trying to get a permit for Sirius, and have been doing missions for the Sirius corp in Sothis/Ceos but see no sign of anything.
I am king and Admiral so rank should not hold me back, also allied with the faction and have been for at least a year, in fact got most of my Fed rank there.
I did think that I got the Permit a long time ago but it seems to be not that way

Have you visited a station controlled by Sirius Corp (i.e. they're the controlling faction)? I've not been out to Sothis/Ceos, in ages so I don't know what their setup is. There are a few systems around Sirius itself that are Sirius Corp controlled - can't remember of the top of my head - but they shouldn't be hard to find...

Got mine (for both of my users) from Avik after ranking up to allied there.. Procyon is also a possibility.

Yes, my response would be to get close to Sirius itself. I can't remember what I did to get the permit, but I was always running errands in systems around Sirius itself. You may have to work up rep with those systems.

Edit - as above, Procyon and Avik are good systems to work

Permit missions only issue within 15ly of the Permit system. The Faction (Sirius Corp., in this case) don't need to control the station for the mission to issue. Best of luck!

I Ground for Sirius Corp at Ceos/Sothis...
Then had to fly out to Procyon, Davy's Dock if memory serves.
As soon as I landed I got the Sirius Permit Mission, a Data Delivery mission...

These Indie permits are all similar: you need to be at a system within 15 LY of the permit-locked system in order to get the permit. Most permit-issuing factions have not expanded much beyond that 15 LY sphere, but Sirius Corp was artificially expanded along the Sothis Spur as the result of an old CG.

nice but I look for this since ages and I am allied with them, just went to davy dock (again, for the dunno how often) aaaaaand nothing.
once i am past Marco qwent i pobably gonna just mess up their stupid faction foe beeing such idiots.

Pretty sure Procyon is where I got mine, it was listed but rep. locked so I sold enough data for friendly status and got it straight away. Procyon is also a good place for the modular terminals to unlock Qwent, check the passenger lounge.
Edit: if you think this is tough, wait till you have to find cadmium.

I worked for the permit in the Procyon system. They offer good paying missions as well. As an explorer, i did mostly planetary scan jobs in surrounding systems.

In general my impression is that the mechanic is broken. I'm allied with Sirius and didn't receive any invitation to the engineer, so I gave up. I did get the permit though.

The invitation has nothing to do with the permit.... Have you reached Level 3.5 with Elvira Martuuk?
