Six Coriolis, seven Coriolis, eight Coriolis BUNCH!

This is not a proposal, just a daydreaming trip.

This game is in for the long haul, essentially the last Elite game we will ever need (for the foreseeable future™). This means that if its successful and profitable, features, content, variation and lore will be added to enhance the base game experience. Almost procedurally.

Now think about a simple thing, like stations. In the previous Elite Installments, we had some base models (like the Coriolis, Tube etc) for stations. Each station type looked and functioned pretty much the same way. For example, a Coriolis station in a Federation world would look and work exactly the same as a Coriolis station in an Anarchy.

Now, read this and try to imagine what the future might bring to us. Docking in O' Bannons' Demise in Gagsta IX would be a completely different experience than doing it at FlowerFarts' Claim in Prejudice VI. Even if both were Coriolis type stations, with the same exterior design.

This is material for divorce and self-banishment right here ppl...:D

This is something I am looking forward to also. I am assuming the fourth stage of the alpha will feature multiple stations, so it would be cool if we could see a few different texture skins for the Zelada style Coriolis at least.

I envision a fancy white version similar to Space Odyssey, and a bare bones one, where the cylinder is visible amongst a hollow girder mesh that forms the cuboctahedron shape.

Apologies for the slight meander off topic here, but in the original docking video, did it not end with a reference to docking the Federal way? I wonder if that could mean there are alternative procedures in place for Imperial or other faction's stations. While it might add another layer of immersion, I don't know how many variations of a fairly simple process could be incorporated in to a game
