Size 2 Torpidos... 15,000 credits per torpido!

I just got 2 size 2 torpedo launchers on my Viper for fun. Torpedos are super expensive though! They only hold 4 at a time, so it's 120,000 credits for a single reload! These things better 1 hit Anacondas!

Don't get your hopes up too high.
I bought 2 C1 for a test. They hold 1 each a 15000. So i had 2 shots. I fired them on an elite anaconda when it had no shild. The damage they made was a joke. Maybe equal to 1 or 2 dumpfire missile. Now if you consider how many dumpfire missile a c1 rack can hold and how much cheaper they are.....It was a big big big let down.

Well, 2 torpedos at the very least 1 hit a shield-less sidewinder. So 10/10 as a griefing weapon I suppose (I used it against an NPC though :p) I'll let you guys know more once I find a bigger ship to fight.

That is not how you use torpedoes....
target a subsystem and align with it at close range, then firey-ho-miss-sophie!

Damage of a torp on a Lakon 9 NPC (Ariel from the U.S.S.) 45-50% hull but 90% subsystem per shot.
I guess you two shot a 'conda with this if you go for the generator.

Yep. Torpedoes are the small mans Plasma Accelerator. One shot on a Viper with downed shields results in 15% hull. Finish off with pulse laser. Target subsystems as Julio said. You can down big prey with ease, if you know how to get the Eel past the point defence.

But then again, double Rail guns also down an Anaconda quite fast and have more shots.

They didn't seem to target individual subsystems. A pair of size 2 torpedos did about 33% damage to an Anaconda. Also, they are bugged where they say they can hold 4 shots each and you can buy 4 shots, but you can only use 2 before it says you are out of ammo. So, I suppose not bad for a trader or something who could pop off a large ship before they even knew what hit them, but for bounty hunting, they are a waste of time.

Will one shot a shieldless elite viper. Just don't get too close if you're in a smaller ship. I put one on my eagle and tried to roast a fed dropship once it's shields were down. I was WAAAAY to close and the blast area engulfed my ship, leaving nothing but a twisted wreck.

Moral of the story for torpedo pylons. Be close before you fire, but not too close...
