Size 7 FSD for Federal Corvette?

I love my Corvette, and do travel in it quite a bit to the Engineers etc...

I, along with many commanders travel to a new system in a ship with a good jump range to check out a new combat area, go to a station near the combat site, and have the Corvette shipped to the station.

That is quite acceptable, and having a good fuel scoop is always advisable, but after reading the description of the Federal Corvette you will read that it is the most used ship for the Navy.

It goes on with a few descriptions of missions it is used for, one being long range missions.

The Corvette with a size 6 FSD is never ideal for any long range mission.

Is there any reason that it cannot have at least a size 7 FSD?

I have my FSD in the Vette (6A FSD) engineered to G4 (Need to gather more materials, lol) and I think I have a 16Ly jump range, so I do not think that I will get more than 18-20 max with the FSD engineered to G5.

To go to some engineers in several of my ships I can do it in 4 jumps, but the same trip in the Vette is 17 or so jumps.

Will the Corvette ever have a larger FSD?

What is the highest jump range anyone here has gotten from one?

I am not being negative, I love my Vette no matter what.

The only other thing I'd change on the ship would be the placement of the large HP by moving it forward.

Hopefully once the guardian module gets working a military Corvette will have a jump range around 30ly! That will be the incentive I need to finally grind these guardian ruins ;)

30 Ly's would be awesome, and realistic. No military is going to have a ship with such importance be near impossible to do anything with because it does not have any range to get anywhere.
 
Well I grade 5 engineered mine and loaded with weapons, srvs, fighters and some hull and module reinforcement, I'm pushing 24 ly jumps which isn't bad for a fully loaded Vette. If I need to FedEx myself across the system, I use my ASPX.
Good luck commander! Just keep engineering that FSD.

Mine has a jump range of 20.44ly when fully loaded for combat lol, took it to get its thrusters upgraded lol 28 jumps, but got some good system scans on the way and killed a few thargoids as well lol.

Would it be better with a jump range around 30ly, of course. But not started on guardian tech yet and booster not fixed. So something to hope for lol.
 
I’d rather they drop the mass by like 50% which would increase jump range and speed ... it’s supposed to be a Combat ship for crying out loud!
