Size 8 Passenger Cabins required

The Imperial Cutter could make the ultimate Passenger Carrier, if size 8 Passenger Cabins were available. (Think Airbus A 380.)

Please extend the Passenger Cabin range to include sizes 7 and 8. Just because the Beluga can't take larger than size 6 Cabins that doesn't mean all ships should be so restricted.

Thank you.

ok we want cabins size 7-8 .. but not the missions of millions of credit that go with .. it's only for glory, our cabins will be half full.

I think that's why there is no size 7-8 it would still be far too much credit.. unless you put missions of equal value .. but there would be no interest..

there are specific missions for a large number of passengers ... to give them interest.. so not a financial interest but a gameplay interest..

if that's the reason why there is no size 7-8.

Events like the Rescue Missions require transporting large numbers of passengers - perfect for size 7 & 8 Economy Cabins.

Also, it's not difficult to fill up 2 x size 6 (64 seats) with "Seeking Transport" short-haul Missions.

It would be nice to have the flexibility. We have size 8 Cargo Holds, why not Passenger Cabins? It's an artificial limitation.

I would far rather the Beluga got some love. It is ridiculous that the Cutter out-classes it for passengers... So size 8 = yes please, but only for passenger speciality ships...

This. Very much so. The Beluga/Orca/Dolphin should carry more passengers than multi-role ships of the same class. They would also need some other small adjustments to keep maneuverability/jump range/overall range balanced:

  • Beluga >>> +2 Size 6 Passenger-Only Internal Compartment (-100T in hull weight to compensate)
  • Orca >>> +1 Size 6 Passenger-Only Internal Compartment (Class 5 Fuel Tank 32T => Class 6 Fuel Tank 64T)
  • Dolphin >>> +1 Size 5 Passenger-Only Internal Compartment (Class 4 Fuel Tank 16T => Class 5 Fuel Tank 32T / -40T in hull weight to compensate)

Yes - this belongs on the Beluga

As currently configured, the Beluga is just another FD embarrassment that gets outperformed by an Anaconda.

The Beluga should have been configured to carry one each of the largest size available in each Passenger class.

Sorry The Annie is the embarrassment. The Beluga carries luxury cabins which I carry often. The Annie flies like a pig while the Beluga is a dream to fly in sc. The annie carries more cargo than most cargo ships, jumps farther than dedicated explorer ships, more guns than combat ships. The annie is a joke.

The argument for special treatment of the Passenger Ships doesn't hold. There are specialist Cargo Ships - Types 6, 7, & 9 - that, for cargo capacity, are equaled or exceeded by Multi-Purpose Ships. Where the specialist ships have the advantage is on price, which is as it should be.

I can understand the argument for specialized modules for specialist ships, eg Luxury, and maybe even First Class, Cabins for the specialist Passenger Ships. There might also be an argument for Corrosion Resistant Cargo Racks, in larger sizes, being available only to specialist Cargo Ships.

But, in the same way that size 7 & 8 Cargo Racks are available to all ships that can take them, size 7 & 8 Economy and Business Class Cabins should be freely available.

Of course the argument holds, dedicated role ships should outperform multiclass ships. You are not paying for the ability to carry more than other ships, you are paying more due to the slots available in the ship, which by coincidence happen to give it the silly ability to outclass all dedicated ships. Going from the price standard then my Type 9 should be a better fighter ship than a Viper because it cost me more.

You would almost think Cutter pilots want the universe on a plate. Perhaps it is time the dedicated role ships get some love instead of Cutter pilots demanding they be the best at everything.
