Size in GB of the game?

Hello there fellow comanders!
My name as you can see is Chrisantz and im from Greece.
Im a 3d designer and i love gaming.
I starded with Tachyon and then i fount the most amazing game in a palm os devise called "space trader" ages ago. Till recently i havent seen anything "good" out there when sudenly (while i was watching a you tube user "the mighty jingles" playing World of Tanks, metioning Elite...) ..i watched and my brain started to have multiple orgasms...

blah blah... A month later (today) i bought the game (the 60€ version) and started to download it BUT
...For the love of me i cannot find the total size of the game anywhere... The download speed is horrifying :p (not my issue) but the client seems to miss a lot of features... Can someone tell me whats the total size of the game up to this date? I have only 25GB free space on my ssd and im afraid that im gonna need another one :(

Stay safe and have fun!

It is just under 3gb but as Darzil says there aren't many big textures and planets are generated by algorithms.

Only that? hm.. I compared it to Word Of Tanks (~30GB) and its fairly low? Should i be worried? hahah :p anyway ok thanks a lot!
A lot of size in games is down to video, voiceovers for missions (SWTOR has more spoken dialog that the Star Wars movies by at least an order of magnitude), and data handling. An MMO will store all textures, map and pathing information for all zones locally, Elite generates them procedurally on the fly.

Thanx a lot guys! Yeah i am familiar with the Procedural generated texture way of making a terain/space concept. Btw i get very low speed downloading the game. Is there any known issues or its "just that" and we "deal with it" as only option?

The downloads have always been fast for me but I do have a fibre line and if the main patch server for me is near Cambridge (where FD UK is based) then that is only a few miles from where I live. I have seen posts about slow downloads though which might mean you are a long way from the download server.
