Skirt biome hopes and ideas

For me this is the most exciting development with the new update. We will get 12 with 1 reskin design?

What are you hoping or expecting to get?

I would like to see:
  • Boreal forest with a low horizon (no mountains).
  • Australian bush/eucalyptus woodland.
  • Mountains.
  • A low horizon with nothing of note
  • Cities - I’m a bit torn on this because city horizons look so different around the world but I am open to seeing what might come up.

I wonder which one will be the reskin. That means there is one current "skirt" (as it seems Frontier call the map backgrounds...) that we won't see anymore. Which one would you prefer to dissapear?

For the 12 new ones, given that PZ uses just 6 biomes, we could have 1 city skirt per biome, that would give a wide range of different cities so that any player has one city skirt similar to their country. And most zoos are very near urban areas, so it makes sense.
About the other 6 skirts, I just hope for: a grassland one that doesn't look like the African savannah (I would prefer a Mediterranean skirt, that's what PZ European grassland is supposed to represent), and then any map where a water body from outside (sea, river) gets into the playable area, so that it makes sense using the ferry entrance from Euro DLC as an entrance (currently it's like, "where did that boat come from?").
 
I'd absolutely love both a city skirt, and a smaller "town/village" skirt. City skirt would take priority, but both would be fantastic. Actually a third type of this - one skirt where the city's in the background of just one side, and one where it's on all sides.

I'd also really really like a seaside/oceanfront skirt. The shore being on the far border from the zoo entrance. I'm not sure how that would work as far as the map not being water, but that could be something that we would have to do on our own, which we can.

beyond that I don't really have preferences, but that's 4 I'd like to see.

@Veah, what I'm hoping with the skirts is that they're something we can choose every skirt for every background. Granted some wouldn't make sense, especially with Tundra and Desert biomes, but that way, you can have a city skirt in each biome and that would only take up one new skirt.

I don't really think so, the way I understand it the "skirt" includes the terrains surrounding the zoo but outside the area where you can build. So the biome of the skirt must match the biome of the terrain map.

I wonder if they'll just repurpose the skirts from the campaign maps.
I wound't really mind, as there are good ones, but calling that "new biome skirts" would feel like false advertising.

My understanding is that you can pick any biome skirt to any map, hopefully @Lydiah Moon or @Tim Smith can clarify.
 
I think this just means 2 new skirts for the biomes, hopefully 1 flat and hilly options. Options like wetlands, seaside, city , or varying biome mixes would be great. Like if I want a southeast American swamp zoo, I would love to get a flat sub tropical forest skirt
 
I would love to see a few different urban skirts to represent different areas and urban densities.

Other than that, I would like a North American prairie (vs the African savanna we currently have), some kind of island/coastal map, a flat desert map, and a forested temperate map.

I haven't checked yet, but is the background skirt on the promo pictures a new one?
 
I really wished they let us use these with existing zoos …. im so far in my franchise zoos I don’t wanna delete them. I’ll have to just live with the old ones for those… even though story wise a city one would do wonders for a couple of my builds
 
I'm super excited for them, yet a bit anxious, because 12 does not sound like much, considering we got 6 biomes. I almost exclusively play temperate, so that doesn't leave me with much...
TBF, they could spare a second Tundra background and use it for Temperate/Grassland/Tropical... Unless it comes with some sea bordering the limits of the buildable area, then it would be useful for making a Polar base.
 
I'm hoping for 2 new biome skirts per biome except tundra, which is fine with the one that we currently have imo. I'd add a city and rural skirt to Temperate.

Desert: High rock mountains (current), endless sand dunes, low horizon with scattered bushes.
Grassland: African savannah (current), low horizon endless plains, low rolling hills.
Tropical: Tropical mountains (current), tropical hills, tropical riverlands / flatlands.
Temperate: European hilly meadows (current), dense temperate forest, temperate seaside, modern North American city, rural European villages.
Taiga: Mountains (current), dense taiga forests, taiga hills and lakes.
Tundra: Tundra hills.
