Hardware & Technical Sky Router WiFi Issue

Ok, so I seem to have zero luck with internet related things.

First my internet just died randomly for no reason.
Got that fixed, was a broken wire. Yay!

In the process of diagnosing the fault, the Sky engineer replaced my sky router, with an identical sky router.

And now, a few weeks later, my WiFi is as unstable as hell.

Internet is fine wired.

So... Apart from buying a new router, what can I do?

Done the usual. Route is as far from interference as possible, it's on a very clear channel (channel 1, 3 other WiFi on the area on channel 5,6,7), default settings.
Only thing that fixes it, is rebooting the router. Which I have to do every few hours. Meh! Cut me a break, Sky!

not a Q router is it, those have to be so far from anything electrical they are practically useless.

Yes, what type is it?

I've not seen one myself for many years - but in all the remote support I've done some of those Sky boxes are nasty.

A router that needs constant reboots can usually be fixed with a firmware update and making sure it's ventilated - unless of course it's so abysmally awful it hits it's hard limit after 5 minutes of normal use and you are better off getting something that will actually work.

Anyway - this seems like the best place to start.

Fibre or ADSL2 (The SR102 can do both) ?? If fibre you are only allowed to use a Sky Supplied Modem (as per Article 2j of Sky's Broadband T's and C's):

If you wish to use a modem or any other equipment that we have not supplied to you in order to
access Sky Broadband we cannot guarantee that ADSL Sky Broadband will work with these. You
must not use a modem or any other equipment that we have not supplied to you in order to
access Sky Fibre Broadband.

I would log a call and push for them to replace it, my SR102 has been rock solid.
