One of my favourite youtubers, Gopher, just posted a review of trying out Skyrim VRand Fallout 4 VR. I trust this guy 100% and I've been subscribed to his channel for years. IMHO you can fully relay on his opinion.

Enjoy!

So, what's the verdict?

I tried early builds of both, two of Fallout 4 VR. I wasn't happy with the PSVR version of Skyrim, you can tell a lot of compromises were made making it work on that system so I guess I'll take a pass on that and pick it up Christmas 2018 for PC when the exclusivity lifts. Tossing fireballs with motion controllers = yes.

Fallout 4 VR worked quite nicely, the only thing I don't like is that we won't get the DLC included. It's great to see Bethesda doing VR ports this early on, I've enjoyed their stuff for years in VR via VorpX but only those impervious to sim sickness and up for tweaking should do that. The builds I tried were teleport locomotion, but I was assured there would be traditional locomotion and lots of comfort mode options included. I hope that wasn't bull!

Wow! That seems really tight - and short sighted. I never bothered with the DLC having bored of the game pretty quickly. Thought I'd pick up the VR version to play that extra content, save myself some bucks now I guess - plus I would've preferred Skyrim anyway, horse riding thru that wilderness would've been beautiful.

Yeah, I only played it a little bit of Fallout 4 via VorpX and thought I'd dig in properly when the VR version came out with the DLC. I couldn't get an answer if it would even get the DLC released for it or when, but I did notice they had to really rebuild a lot of assets and do quite a lot of tweaking to fix a lot of issues. They DID put a lot of effort into trying to make it more comfortable for people, with Fallout 4 VR taking a leap between the two builds but there's going to be reviews full of complaints about turning off teleportation and getting sick subsequently. As if we haven't learned our lesson about those kinds of things by now.

The Pip-boy works in a charming way and aiming the weapons works great... but I think these ports are REALLY going to shine further down the line when we get higher resolution sets with better FOV, I think. Bethesda is fine with selling us the same games over and over and over again to accommodate.
