"Slave Rebellion Gains Traction"

So does this mean we're winning? The control percentages are still frozen at 28.5% for each of the two factions. Some clarity from FD on the matter would be very much appreciated!

I for one am very keen to be involved with world events, but I don't think I'm alone in feeling confused about whether my actions actually have any consequence, *which* of my actions have consequence and in *what* way. There are too many hidden factors for players to make anything more than conjecture about what effect player agency is really having. I understand the desire to maintain an atmosphere of exploration and discovery of the game mechanics by the community, but the pronouncements we've received so far have been coy to the point of frustration.

Personally (but again I don't think I'm alone), I'm holding off on getting more involved until I know which of my actions will support which faction and in what way. Clarity on the matter would improve player engagement in these events massively, isn't that what FD (and everyone) wants?

I've been helping crush the rebellion, and I thought most players were as well. But then again, there is no way of knowing what effect anything is doing. It's too opaque.

Well, with reputation rewards for participating in that fight are the reverse of what they should be - how is it a wonder, that the rebels are winning?

I delivered two Imperial Slaves at the request of the Imperial faction (mining one) and when I delivered the cargo It gave me positive reputation and them negative influence? is this because I was giving more slaves that could possibly turn in to rebels? or is it just bugged? I assumed it's bugged. I don't believe that we can influence anything to be honest, we just increase/decrease the percentages but FD decides what happens. Not really dynamic.

If they want us to participate, they need to facilitate the incentives for participation. And sooner rather than later, if I might be so bold!

I gave up with Sorbago the other day when I started losing rep with mastropolis for doing thier own missions.

Couldn't agree with you more.

I started in Sorbago, but moved onto to Jera. Figured we were quelling the revolt there and my help would be needed in Jera.

To be honest I've lost the will now. I have no idea if what I am doing is helping or not.

Personally I haven't had too much problems with the missions, 95% of mine seem to give rep and influence in the correct direction, though I think a couple were definately bugged.

I have been doing as many missions as I can but also for shear stupid fun I have been creating my own war. Attacking all Authority ships wherever I find them, destroying Social Democrat traders at every possible chance, that sort of thing, and have racked up a 400,000cr bounty in Jera.

To be honest, I really hope the Nationalists win, so that they might clear the bounty I have incurred by helping them.

Sorry to have hijacked your thread to talk about Jera.

Not sure if I have time to play in the next few days, but if I do, I'll head back to Sorbago. Hopefully I can help before it's all over.

I'll put these questions here. If anyone can answer any of them that might be a start to helping us understand what is really going on.

1) Do kills in warzones count towards influence or only when bonds are handed in?
2) Does destroying larger ships in warzones have greater effect on influence?
3) Does it matter which faction controls the station that bonds are handed in?
4) Does selling goods at a station increase the controlling factions influence?
5) Does buying goods at a station increase the controlling factions influence?
6) Does selling goods on the black market increase the controlling factions influence?
7) Does collecting bounties affect influece in any way?
8) Does turning in bounties at a station increase the controlling factions influence?
9) Does destoying System Authority Ships at Nav Beacons etc. affect influence in a system?
10) Does destoying traders and bounty hunters and pirates at Nav Beacons etc. affect influence in a system?
11) What happens when the influence varies? How much does it have to change for the civil war to end? Is it on a set time?

HI,

I'm Empire and I've turned up on Sorabago and I'm really confused about what I'm supposed to be doing.

I went into a conflict zone and saw an Imperial Navy Vessel and a couple of System Defence Forces, the SDF firing at the INV and vice versa.

But Sorabago is an Empire system!!

It's not making any sense to me, essentially an Empire faction is fighting the Empire's Naval fleet?

I expected to see Independent's (fuelling the slave rebellion) fighting Empire.

leaving today after having been there since day 2 or so. Unfriendly with everybody. All in all lost a lot of money too.

Tried to partake in this story line of FD and help them out. If FD wants me to rejoin one of these again.

- They need to fix reputation mess first and foremost
- up the bond payout and make it depending on ennemy or damage dealt or something
- fix open play so it isn't a rubberbanding festival where if you are unlucky you are suddenly dead without even knowing why

The Combat bonds are really not logical for me.... perhaps it has to be tweaked and for the imprtance of the Situation the Payment is far to small and the resultst are strange.

Another point would be giving Combat Bonds, by the tons of Enemy You destroy (small, medium, Large) So it is better to search for small fighters than taking out the real threats (Condas and Pytons)

Also therw might some Teamwork be rewarded, War is Teamwork so last shot takes it all does not make tactikal sense!

Just wanted to add that the "Onionhead Campaign" in Kappa suffers from the same weirdo issues as posted here. I noticed I gain relation with the factions Im fighting against in the warzones, overall relation wackyness, lack or confusing info about the ongoings and sometimes new ships without shields in warzones. On top of that the bugs with bounties not registering and associated relation.
So far I love this.... Beta! =)
